Credit for Prior Learning

    Purpose and Philosophy
Aquinas College recognizes that college-level learning occurs in many forms — through employment, professional training, military service, industry certifications, and community engagement. This policy provides students with an efficient, transparent, and equitable pathway to receive academic credit for verified college-level learning.

    Eligibility and Credit Limits
    • Students may earn up to 24 semester hours through CPL.
    • CPL credits may fulfill general education, major, minor, or elective requirements, but do not count toward residency requirements.
    • CPL credits are transcripted with a CR (Credit) grade and are not included in the calculation of cumulative GPA.
